Payroll Clerk

Summary of Position

The Payroll Clerk works alongside the Payroll Associate. Assisting in the collection, entering, and processing of payroll data for St. Joseph’s Indian School and Sacred Heart Center. The schedule will be typically Monday-Wednesday. This is a non-exempt, part-time position.

Accountability

Reports to the Payroll Manager

Core Responsibilities

  • Assists employees in fulfilling the mission of St. Joseph’s Indian school by promoting and modeling a culture of compassion, encouragement, and results.

  • Assists the Human Resource Department in the “St. Joe’s Way” initiative.

Responsibilities

  1. Assists in maintaining payroll information through the collection, entering, and processing of data.

  1. May assist with keeping HRIS up-to-date.

  1. Provides payroll information to authorized persons by providing time clock reports and assisting the Payroll Associate with further questions and requests direct to the Payroll department.

  1. Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

  1. Enhances professional knowledge by attending job-related training required by the supervisor.

  1. Performs other responsibilities as required by position supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Data entry skills preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel preferred

Physical Demands

  • Uses both hands and wrists repetitively for prolonged periods.

  • Driving may be required.

  • Some supervision may require standing for prolonged periods.

Expectations of Hours Worked

  • 20 hours per week
